In our Medical Teams Abroad program, volunteer teams are comprised of pediatricians, surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and administrators. Our areas of specialty include ophthalmology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, urology, ear/nose/throat, orthopedics and dentistry.
Medical teams evaluate children, identify candidates for surgery, order required tests, and create operating room schedules. In addition to surgery, medical teams may conduct hearing tests and eye examinations; supply hearing aids and prescription eyeglasses; donate medical supplies and equipment; and provide dental care.
Medical teams also share knowledge and expertise with the host country’s medical personnel.
